1. Claim Lodgement
Your insurer has received your claim and appointed UBS to assess the
damages.
2. Assesment
UBS will contact you to arrange a damage assessment, which includes:
- Review of claim circumstances
- Detailed report of damages
- Investigation into the cause of damage
- Identification on any pre-existing or unrelated damages
- Maintenance issues that could cause future damage
- Causation analysis in relation to the PDS
- Supporting photos
- Scope of works with room dimensions, repair details, and estimated costs
3. Policy Coverage Determination
Your insurer will review the UBS assessment :
- If accepted, UBS will contact you to proceed.
- If not, your insurer will discuss the next steps with you
Note: UBS cannot provide the assessment report directly. Request it from your insurer.
4. Contract Preliminaries
If repairs are approved UBS will arrange:
- Scope of works for your approval
- Domestic building contract (if applicable)
- VMIA warranty insurance (if applicable)
- QBCC warranty insurance (if applicable)
- Excess payment process (if applicable)
5. Repairs
Once preliminaries are complete, repairs will begin. A project coordinator will:
- Introduce themselves and explain the repair process
- Assign UBS trades
- Arrange site access
- Provide a repair timeline
- Confirm material selections
- Share contact details
6. Repair Completion
After repairs, your coordinator will conduct a completion check, confirming:
- All repairs are complete per final scope and your satisfaction
- You have received relevant documents/warranties (if applicable)
- Feedback on UBS and partner trades
Note: UBS provides a warranty for all workmanship.
